Our cultural exchange program provides
a couple of wonderful opportunities for foreigners to broaden their
minds here in South America. Mostly, people tend to choose teaching
English/Spanish, but we also are involved and connected with NGOs that
offer volunteer opoportunities in
socio-economically depressed areas or `favelas` . We also are able to
place people working with many other great NGOs that involve work with
wildlife preservation, the environment, social and cultural sectors.
We are at an advantage because we are based in São Paulo,
Brazil. Being based in Latin America, we feel we have a direct and
meaningful link with
institutions here.
Those that want a challenge and to expand their horizons inside of an
electric learning environment should try teaching English or other
languages. We can place people in English schools doing everything from
teaching children to executives. As South America is emerging and
developing into an important piece of the global market, it is
necessary for South Americans to learn English in order to compete in
the globalized job market. This provides much need for English
professors, especially native speakers.
We are looking for people who are interested in giving back to the
world
community as well as learning from it. This is a wonderful opportunity
to
teach as well as learn much about Latin America, the world in general,
and
most of all, yourself.
On average teachers are paid 10 dollars an hour and work around 25
hours a week in a particular school. Teachers from abroad commonly live
with other teachers or with host families during their stay. Because of
the demands of the work and study lives of the students, most classes
take place in the hours of the evening and early morning.
We ask that teachers stay a minimum of 6 months in one place.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you are socially-conscious,
selfless, volunteering could be amazingly enriching experience for you.
It will give you the chance to use your much needed attributes and
abilities to help improve the world community. This is a great
opportunity to give back to the world while becoming more socially and
culturally conscience.
Teacher positions are paid but volunteer positions are not, so you need
to be prepared to cover all costs incurred while staying in South
America as a volunteer.
We would love to talk more in depth about the opportunities that are
ahead of you in South America. If you are interested in more
information on these enlightening experiences, please write to us in
the Contact Us section.
